Abstract:
Development of electron cloud in the CERN PS during 26 GeV quadrupole splitting is studied to understand e-cloud effect on bunch profile. Dedicated rf gymnastic were carried out during the last 40 msec of the beam in the PS using h=84 and h=168 systems which produce bunches in bunch lengthening (BLM), bunch shortening (BSM) and single harmonic (SH) modes. Electron cloud development in each case were studied. Here we present our preliminary analysis of the data using modified ECLOUD code. Suggest and improvements in the code to handle non-standard bunch profiles. A few issues/problems in code are identified.
